Pregnancy And Childbirth Information, The Three Trimesters

Pregnancy and childbirth information is important for a pregnant woman to gather. A pregnancy usually takes between 38 to 42 weeks. This is often confusing because most people talk about a pregnancy being nine months and 40 weeks is a tad longer. Pregnancy and childbirth information will help you to be prepared and ready regardless of whether you are at 38 weeks or closer to 42. Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last menstrual period, which accounts for the extra time. Pregnancy and childbirth are a source of fascination for the human race. A common term you'll hear throughout your pregnancy is the term trimester. Your pregnancy is split into three trimesters.

The first trimester of pregnancy is the first 12 weeks. This is a key time in your body. It's a good idea to take Folic Acid supplements and prenatal vitamins as soon as you discover you are pregnant. You should also abstain from drugs and alcohol from this point forward. Fetal development in the first trimester is rapid and your body goes through vast changes between the conception of your pregnancy and childbirth's time. While most miscarriages occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, many women have successful pregnancies on their first try.

Nausea is common during first trimester of pregnancy and while it's uncomfortable, it's a good sign of a progressing pregnancy. If you have questions about your pregnancy and childbirth, there are many resources online to help you.

Pregnancy and childbirth are on the minds of many women trying to conceive and in their first trimester. In the second trimester, weeks 13 to 26, you might feel more relaxed about your reduce risk of loss but be getting ready for all the tests. Ultrasounds and other tests may be taken at this time. The second trimester of pregnancy often has women feeling well and glowing with health. Some women continue to have nausea and morning sickness but many feel healthy and well. Throughout your second trimester, you'll continue to visit your doctor once a month if your pregnancy is progressing normally. As your pregnancy progresses through trimester number two your pregnancy begins to show.

From months 6 to 9 or weeks 27 to 40 you are in the home stretch. Pregnancy and childbirth are coming to a finish. It is normal to gain about a pound per week during the end and also to feel tired and leg cramps. Some women start to leak colostrums as well as have trouble sleeping. The third trimester is the time when sleep is the most challenged part of your pregnancy and childbirth may be something you look forward to out of exhaustion.
