Pregnancy Diets Mean Healthy Newborns

from:

While eating a well balanced diet is always important, now more than ever you need to be mindful of proper nutrition. Your pregnancy means you are not just eating for yourself now. You must eat a well balanced diet in order to sustain the growing fetus inside you. What you eat has a great impact on their growth and development.
Eating a healthy pregnancy diet not only assists in having enough calories to sustain your growing baby, it also protects you and your growing baby from becoming sick. If you were eating a well-balanced diet before you became pregnant you probably won’t have to change much during your pregnancy diet. However, there are a few foods women should be wary about. Pregnancy doesn’t mix well with a few food items such as:
· Sodium –try to avoid excess salt whenever possible
· Raw eggs
· Raw seafood like sushi
· Aspartame- the sugar substitute
Simply avoid these foods and you shouldn’t have any problems.
Pregnancy is a joyous time. Learning to eat healthy shouldn’t take up your time. Over the course of the first few months you can change your habits and then your newly acquired pregnancy diet will reflect good choices. The changes are easier to manage and by the time your belly begins to grow you are well on your way to a proper pregnancy diet filled with healthy choices.
This doesn’t mean a boring diet. Not by a long shot. Eating your fruits and vegetables will help your hair grow long and give it a healthful shine. It also builds skin and bone in your growing baby.
Eating your 75grams of protein a day will help you feel stronger, less tired and help you conquer the nausea. It helps your growing baby develop a good immune system.
Here are some protein rich foods:
· 1 ¾ cups low-fat yogurt
· 3 ½ ounces canned tuna (packed in water)
· ¾ cup low-fat cottage cheese
· 3 ounces chicken or turkey
Drinking plenty of fluids is quite important during pregnancy, especially if it gets hot during the day. Remember that soda contains calories and coffee has caffeine so it is best for your healthy pregnancy diet to drink plenty of water. Most physicians recommend at least six to eight glasses of water per day. This rids your body or any extra toxins; helps you avoid early labor and will help your baby during delivery as well.
Committing to a healthy pregnancy diet takes commitment and in some cases will require lifestyle changes. Overall, you and your growing baby will benefit. Get help from family and friends. Stick with your new pregnancy diet plan clear through delivery and you will find yourself welcoming home a beautiful healthy boy or girl.
