Select maternity briefs that feel comfortable over your bump. You can buy special maternity briefs, but often you can get away with regular bikini underwear in a larger size.
Maternity lingerie includes more than bras and briefs though. These two words refer to maternity hosiery and maternity sleepwear too.
Maternity pantyhose are specially designed with extra-wide waistbands that will fit over your growing bump. They’re created so that they won’t roll down into an uncomfortable wad below your stomach. Many have special support elastics in the legs to help prevent varicose veins and help you stand on your feet longer without feeling tired.
Another part of maternity lingerie is maternity sleepwear. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on maternity sleepwear if you don’t want to. You’ll want to make sure you take good care of your maternity lingerie. It’s best to hand-wash them in a deep sink with cold water and a gentle detergent. If you prefer to machine-wash, put your lingerie in a lingerie bag or pillow liner and set your machine on the delicate cycle at a cool temperature. Clasp all hook and close all buttons.
Never put your maternity lingerie in the dryer to prevent them from shrinking. Instead clip them to a clothesline or hang them on drying rack. Try to keep them away from sunlight too so that they don’t fade.
